Doolandella is a residential suburb in the City of Brisbane, 20.7 km south-west of the CBD by road. It is one of the faster-growing pockets on that side of the city: the population went from 3,105 at the 2011 Census to 4,817 in 2016 and 7,123 at the 2021 Census (ABS). Land use in the suburb is almost entirely residential, with Blunder Creek forming its eastern and southern boundaries.

There are no schools inside Doolandella itself — the nearest government primary schools are in the neighbouring suburbs of Inala and Pallara. The suburb has six local parks: Beccaria Place, Blunder Creek Reserve, Bridgeman Place, Daintree Close, Wallaroo Way and Wedgetail Street.

A house and land package in Queensland is normally two separate contracts rather than one: a contract for the land, and a building contract with the builder for the home to be constructed on it. Settlement happens on the land first, and the build follows once titles and approvals are in place.
